We recently faced a challenging situation with one of our teenagers, who was experiencing severe pain due to an infected and broken tooth. Despite our efforts, no other provider could accommodate us. However, when we reached out to Silver Summit, Dr. Johnstun went above and beyond by coming in on his day off to help. Dr. Johnstun's exceptional care and expertise not only put our teenager at ease but also saved the tooth with a root canal when we feared it might have to be removed. After enduring a prolonged period of pain and discomfort, he is now feeling significantly better. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Silver Summit Dental! I was having a tooth emergency, and my regular dentist was out of town. Silver Summit brought me in immediately, assessed my tooth, and referred me to an endodontist. They then went the extra mile, calling in a favor, and got me an appointment the next day! Everyone there was kind, understanding, and so professional. Going to a new dentist can be a stressful experience but, they made it feel so comfortable. I had even just come from Costco and have fresh strawberries in my car. I didn't want to leave them in the heat so, they put them in the fridge for me while they examined my tooth! I cannot begin to express how awesome this place is. I am highly anxious and nervous at the dentist, this is the first time I have felt safe and genuinely cared for and listened to. Doctor Johnstun took his time and talked me through everything, he also has a gentle hand which helped so much with the shots, I barely felt them. The assistant was so kind and talked to me throughout, to keep me calm. Nick walked me though everything and was kind, clear and so helpful, he created a plan that fits my needs and my budget. This team is AMAZING! I found my forever dental office!

This was my first time here and it’s honestly an AMAZING facility! I felt very comfortable and the staff was very knowledgeable and explained everything from what my X-rays showed right down to what notes they adding. I brought my 3 young children with me and they were awesome to them too, bringing them treats and let them choose a toy from the prize box at the end. Great atmosphere, great people. Called in the morning with tooth ache on July 3rd, they saw me an hour later and that afternoon I had my root canal done. Very professional, kind and honest people. I was explained all my insurance coverage and was given a receipt with everything I had paid. They seem to care for me and I feel very comfortable there. Will be going back for the rest of the treatment.

Silver Summit really saved my bacon! about a week ago I had several fillings done at a different office (part of a chain), and within that week 3 of the fillings had fallen out. I was referred to Silver Summit, so i made a call and not only were they sympathetic to my situation but they were quick to help me get scheduled for replacement fillings. I struggle with severe dental anxiety so bad that I don’t and won’t see a dentist until I am in extreme pain. Which is how I first came across this place I had an infection and needed my tooth pulled. Since then I have gone back for a cleaning which I was terrified to do but the dental hygienist Amber made it so so much better she explained everything she was doing so I knew and I actually loved it. Afterwards I had an exam done by one of the dentists he was so friendly and kind and he really listened to my concerns and what I was asking him to do and not do. He made me feel heard and didn’t make me feel embarrassed by the current condition of my teeth. I am going back today to get most of my work done and to be honest I’m not one bit worried and if I do get anxious I’ll just opt in for the laughing gas lol! After having two babies my teeth had some issues. I went to a different dentist and was quoted a high amount. I came here for a second opinion and they did it for more than half. They were so nice and caring during the whole procedure. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time. My crown turned out great.

He is willing to take you wherever you are and come up with the best next steps for you. The entire team is fantastic. They do not rush through tasks/patients and take the time to answer any questions. They keep the mood light, which makes the visits enjoyable. Also, I love the technology/tools in this office. I could not be happier with my crown; it's honestly beautiful. I'm happy to say my husband is now a new patient too, and he feels great about his treatment plan. Had my wisdom teeth taken out and they did a wonderful job! Haven’t had any problems and am healing perfectly!! 2- had my permanent retainer lift up and falling off. I called the office about it and they asked if I could be there in 10 mins. They got me in 30 mins before closing and fixed my retainer quickly. They are just the best and I appreciate the work they’ve done for me and my smile!

I am so very grateful for the team and Dr. Johnstun at Silver Summit Dental. I had a painful infection that developed on a Sunday and Dr. Johnstun called me in an antibiotic on his day off and got me in early the next day. They were so kind, patient and understanding in dealing with my pain. Something I’ve never seen at other dental clinics is that at Silver Summit Dental they have an in-house patient advocate that brings an itemized quote of services to your chair, private from the practitioners, as to not put pressure on your decisions. I would recommend this clinic to anyone wanting quality, patient centered dental care.
If you’re looking into this office this is worth the read: Had a few cavities filled today. Dr. Johnston worked on me. I needed laughing gas for dental anxiety (past dental assistant, I know too much) and Dr. J and the assistant were so patient with me. They helped adjust the gas to a comfortable level and waited to inject me with anesthetic until I was fully comfortable. Not to mention Dr. J’s overall humor was very helpful in some moments to divert my attention. My partner was also able to pull up a chair and hangout while I was getting my work done. He had his work done in the bay next to me because they were able to schedule us together which was very convenient. We had a really positive experience and I fully trust going back and getting the other work done I need.
Do yourself a favor and stop letting dental anxiety stop you from seeing Dr Johnston and his very personable and capable team. You will not regret seeing this personable professional dentist. P.S. nitrous oxide and some ear buds never hurt.

I loved my old Dentist, but he sold his practice. It was also in Cottonwood Heights and the drive was becoming too long. So with a new dentist and long drive , I decided to try to find something closer. I have been to four other offices in the area. Every single location just treated me as a customer not a patient. I work at an optometric office and so I know how important it is to treat your patients as patients and not as paying customers. I looked up reviews for Silver summit and decided I would give this office a try and if it didn’t work out, I was just going to go back to my old office. Let me just say how grateful I am that I decided to come here. The doctor and staff are truly exceptional. They truly do care and want to make sure that you are completely taken care of above anything else . They even took the time to find out what my interests were, and surprised me with a book and a handwritten card at the end of my appointment. I would highly recommend this office to anyone you are truly in good hands.

I had a major tooth ache and I am terrified of the dentist. Dr Johnston took me in on a Saturday and was so kind and helpful. He didn’t make me feel bad for not going to the dentist in years . He also was very honest and kind in what I will be needing in the future. I almost went to an emergency dental place that who knows what they would’ve done . He called me in a prescription to get rid of the infection to get me out of pain . Every thing happens for a reason and I think the reason is I have found my new dentist . Thank you soooooo much !
I recently went in for teeth cleaning. I know I’m no ordinary client/patient, (as I’ve been nicknamed in the past by another dental office as ole ‘pereo’) due to my former gum inflammation issues, sensitivities and more than normal plaque! But Krystyn F., one of their outstanding hygienists, and a very skilled clinician (and terrific with children, btw), excised all the ‘clutter’ very deftly—with no, or very minimal pain to me, who in the past at times had to receive local anesthetics to reduce the high pain level just for teeth-cleaning! Great experience! You receive superb treatment and great customer service at Silver Summit D.!

My daughter was really anxious, but they were so sweet and patient with her, as was Dr. Johnstun. They worked with my insurance to verify coverage, which I very much appreciate. I switched over to Silver Summit after having a terrible experience with a previous dentist office. Silver Summit has been nothing but a breath of fresh air. They were able to help me complete my Invisalign plan after moving from out of state. Their communication and service are top notch. I drove my wife to the office for an emergency extraction.Dr. Johnston went above and beyond. He schedule Sarah on his lunch. We found Dr. Johnston to be gentle, caring, and knowledgeable. He saved the day literally. The bill was very reasonable. I only could pay 3/4 of the bill. Then 2 months later I called to finish payment, but he had written it off. A+ 6 star rating. Dr. Johnston and his staff have set the bar high. Sarah and I are lifetime patients.
Called them about a chipped tooth and they had me in the chair in less than 30 minutes! They took my insurance and they were even ready for me 15 minutes early. They fixed the tooth and it looks even better than it did before the accident and they were all super friendly. Highly recommend!

I have super high anxiety at the dentist, no matter what I’m going for. Even just a cleaning I will cry everytime! They are so nice though they calmed my nerves, gave me blankets and offered water. It’s pretty embarrassing being in your 20’s and afraid of the dentist but it’s something you must do. And if I have to go, I would go here over and over again. Super gentle and I appreciate it!

I have been experiencing terrible tooth pain for a few weeks, and after receiving 3 other opinions which I did not agree with, I found Dr. Johnstun by reviewing numerous Google reviews. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Tenille and Dr. Johnstun and Kamailee. I was warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable. Kamailee who was the dental assistant did a great job of getting me comfortable and prepped for the dentist. She even prepared my temporary crown to fit pretty close to perfect! Dr. Johnstun is stellar in his dentist knowledge. He provided an opinion of getting a crown and did the tooth and gum tissue prep virtually pain free. He even sang some tunes while he was working on my tooth...:) I highly recommend going to Silver Summit Dental for all of your dental needs. Great job everybody!

Been going here since I moved to Herriman 4 years ago. I recently moved to Draper but still go to Silver Summit as the staff is great, they are professional, and very courteous.
I had an issue with a crown falling off and my tooth decaying underneath. And I called them after having an issue with a different dentist that I'd I went to. I Google this dentist because they were close to me. They got me right in took care of everything and they were very friendly and I really had a good experience. I would definitely recommend their office to somebody else
Super friendly staff, great communication leading up to the appointment as well as easy to complete online forms. The hygienist was very thorough and Dr Johnston was very personal and conservative in his approach. I've been to dentists before who want to do as much work as possible just to put more money in their pockets (and I don't stay with them when it becomes obvious that's what they're doing). Dr Johnston on the other hand takes a conservative approach wherein he says let's just keep an eye on things before we make any drastic decisions like having to get a root canal or a new Crown put on. I really appreciate that!

If you are looking for a dentist that actually listens to you and makes you feel comfortable about coming in to get teeth work done, look no further! I've been going to silver summit since 2017 and I could never look back! Every dental assistant I've had has been amazing. Every hygienist I've had has been so nice and helpful. And both dentist are so gentle and keep you informed of what they are doing the entire time so you don't feel blindsided at the end of the visit. Oh and Joey at the front desk is such a doll! Always greets everyone by name and a genuine smile and so helpful with the break downs for payments!
I do not like going to the dentist. However, my experience here has been amazing. Excellent doctor and the staff take time to listen to your concerns and don’t rush. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. the assistance of doctor Abigail was awesome, She is very kind and personable and knowledgeable they all worked as a cohesive team and I felt great in their hands.
I had very sudden and excruciating tooth pain. I hadn’t been to a dentist in a while and had recently changed my insurance so I wasn’t sure where to go. I called around to a few places, but Silver Summit was the first one I found that took my insurance and was close to home. It’s an understatement when I say that they were absolutely incredible. They got me in within the hour to examine my wisdom tooth and pulled it the very next day. Every single person I interacted with was so kind and welcoming, but Tenille and Dr. Johnstun truly went above and beyond to help me. I couldn’t be more grateful.

I made appointments for all my kids yesterday , with my youngest being in pain to find out he had an infection and needed his tooth pulled. Dr. Johnstun was extremely patient and kind. I appreciate his pleasant approach and making my 7 year old feel comfortable. To my experience not every dentist can give 2 shots to the mouth with infection and not have a 7 year old cry. Had an amazing experience. Assistants and the doctors there made me feel so comfortable. Went in for a few cavities and wisdom teeth pulled. Ended up so scared to pull the wisdom teeth without being put out. They were all so understanding of my fear and didn’t make me feel bad for being so scared. I am so happy to find this place! I had not paid a visit to a dentist since COVID started, so I was a bit worried about my teeth condition at first. Thankfully, the staffs were friendly and professional. They took care of my teeth with patience and made sure I felt as comfortable as possible throughout the process. They even worked with my insurance company before the visit! The whole experience was like driving thru a fast food place, i did not spend a second on the paperwork or any mundane.
